A North Texas man is in jail after driving his Tesla Cybertruck into Grapevine Lake on Monday to test the vehicle's "Wade Mode" feature, Grapevine police said.
Wade Mode, per Tesla, is designed to help the Cybertruck navigate shallow water crossings — not lakes. The truck sank. The driver was arrested.
Police had not released the man's name, the charges against him, or how far the Cybertruck traveled before the experiment concluded.
